DISCRIMINATORS
Munitions:
- Thales Australia is the largest supplier of explosive ordnance to the Australian Defence Force, with a successful track record delivering ammunition, propellants, explosives and related services. We are also a principal supplier of small arms ammunition to the New Zealand Defence Force. Thales produces high quality propellant and ammunition for military and civilian domestic and international customers.
- Manufacturing is based at two main regional sites – Benalla in Victoria and Mulwala in New South Wales. The Benalla site produces ammunition, explosive ordnance and other munitions, while the Mulwala site focuses on high quality propellants and explosives. Thales possesses the management depth and expertise, know-how and resources strength necessary to manage Australia’s domestic and export munitions manufacturing with confidence and safety well into the future.
Solid Rocket Motor Production:
- Thales provides the capability to manufacture solid rocket motors, and the integration of those motors to a variety of guided and unguided applications. We are able to undertake formulation of propellants required for rocket motor manufacture to stringent quality, reliability and safety standards.
Bushmaster Vehicle:
- Bushmaster is a 17-tonne, 4x4 multi-role protected vehicle incorporating a 4+ tonne payload and combining high levels of ballistic and blast protection with excellent off-road mobility. For more than 20 years, Bushmaster has proven performance in protecting and saving the lives of soldiers during military operations, from Iraq to Afghanistan, Mali to Ukraine.
- Over 1200 Bushmasters are in service on four continents with nine defence forces. More than a life-protecting, highly capable protected vehicle, Bushmaster is a well-supported, long-term protected mobility platform solution for defence forces.
Underwater Surveillance:
- The BlueSentry system provides true undersea domain awareness to any USV or UUV platform. Additionally, through simple installation, the system transforms any surface vessel either military or civilian into a capable undersea surveillance platform. The core system comprises a thin line towed array with associated onboard edge processing, ship to shore communications and Human Machine Interface that can be displayed at the customers choice of location.
- The system is truly platform agnostic and can be tailored in length and augmented with other sensors if required to meet specific detection requirements and platform Space Weight and Power restrictions. The slimline, lightweight and scalable modular architecture of BlueSentry makes it an excellent asset in increasing the Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) capability and breadth of any naval force
